I had a bike fit this week which resulted in a pair of Superfeet insoles to tighten the shoe fit and provide more support, and a new, flatter saddle.
These photographs were taken with my iPhone 5C, and have not been edited in any way. I’m joining Lisa from GrayDaysAndCoffee to share smartphone photos each Friday. Please join us and share your favourite photographs.
Ok…that seat looks uncomfortable. Is it?
Actually, it is more comfortable. These days, like most things, a bike fit gets quite technical. Using sensors on the saddle, the fitter can determine, display, and quantify pressure points. The objective is to centre where you are contacting the saddle, and reduce the amount of pressure. This flatter saddle does just that. I went for a long ride this week and was surprised what a big difference it made.
That is totally amazing!

I’ve got that saddle too, looks great. Not quite right for me. Fabric is from the folk who make the Charge Spoon. Similar saddles but I find the cheaper Spoon more comfortable. Cyclists and saddles, a very personal relationship in more ways than one.
So true. I had never heard of these saddles. It was recommended by the fitter. I find it much more comfortable than the Fi’zi:k saddles I have been riding for years.
