I’m a cycling aficionado.
I bike for fitness, and encourage others of all ages, shapes, and sizes to do the same. I tell them it is good for their health, good for the environment, practical, and more than anything, fun.
I enjoy being out on a bike exploring and challenging myself to longer distances, and steeper climbs. Riding gives me a wonderful sense of freedom, the ability to go where I want, when I want. There are no traffic jams. No waits. I keep moving, exploring new routes, and talking with like minded cyclists along the way.
I turned 70 this year, and have enjoyed 50 years of road cycling – touring, racing, and commuting. In fact, I enjoy cycling as much, perhaps even more, than I did decades ago. I’m fitter, stronger, and faster than I was as a 20 year old. I have 3 bikes I ride regularly – a full carbon steed, a custom steel frame touring bike, and another steel frame city bike.
