Tesla Day … 😂

Yesterday was Tesla Day. It got a charge, wash, and a highway ride. It’s first.

This car is more than I expected. It looks good. It feels good. It’s fast, responsive, and fun to drive. It’s a very different experience. You don’t need the brakes, except in an emergency. And when you take your foot off the accelerator, it slows down, and recharges itself 😃 You quickly learn to slow when approaching a corner, and accelerating at the apex. There are no gears to change. No noise. Just instant power. It’s exhilarating. It’s not unlike road cycling where you use the terrain to improve efficiency, and speed 🚴🏻

And the dash is elegant. Clean. There are no dials. No switches. Just an i-Pad like display that controls everything from climate control, windshield wipers, glove box, media options, trunk, and “frunk”. It displays current speed, current speed limit, charge level, nearby vehicles, and pedestrians. And get this. The seats are vegan. No animal products are used in the interior.

And consider this. There is no engine, transmission, or exhaust system needing service and repair. The batteries are beneath the cabin making for a lower centre of gravity which improves handling, particularly when cornering 🤣

This car gives me hope for a cleaner, more environmentally friendly future. There is no denying it. We need vehicles in our society, but we can reduce their use, and make them environmentally friendly.

If you are considering a new vehicle, I encourage you to test drive an EV. They are fun, quiet, clean, and economical.

  1. Tesla is the only EV I’d consider right now. If we didn’t need the SUV for farm duties or were after a second car I’d certainly take one for a test drive. Does it have those funky cameras that record if anyone gets too close or tries to break in when it’s parked?
