Yesterday ride was a tempo ride. You know. The kind of ride where you don’t work too hard but it’s not easy either. A ride that keeps the heart rate in the middle heart rate zones(s).
Today it’s sprints. All out efforts for short periods of time.
I have a recently paved stretch of road nearby. It’s quiet, scenic, and has very little traffic. It also has power poles beside the road. You know. Those poles that hold up power lines feeding power to the farms and cottages. Well, they are conveniently spaced 75-100 yards apart. I race between them. All out for one section, and then rest the next. Intervals. That’s what they are. I do this going out, and then do a steady pace back on the same road.
I call the workout “Pole Sprints”. Seems fitting. The ride takes about an hour. 25-30 km. And, it takes a lot out of me.
Oh yeah. The picture. We play a lot of solitaire here. The card game. I won last night. The first time this season.
