STRAVA keeps you honest.
I frequently ride alone. I like it. Prefer it really. But sometimes I trick myself into thinking I’m stronger or faster than I really am. Perhaps I’m faster than I’ve been but slow compared to many others. STRAVA shows me how slow.
I cruise easily between 25-35 kph depending on the terrain and wind. I descend short hills at 45-50 kph and climb them at a 15-25 kph pace depending.
But this isn’t fast. STRAVA shows me there is always someone faster on the climbs, descents, and flats.
Always.
It doesn’t matter. What matters is that I’m stronger, and faster than last season.
That’s all that matters.
Absolutely. And even if you ARE the fastest on Strava, there’s still always somebody faster than you out there. It’s all relative. π
Conversely, it almost always shows you that you’re not the slowest out there. That in itself can be a positive.
That’s true! And that keeps you motivated.
