I’m back to feeling normal.
Yesterday I completed a 30 km ride. It was supposed to be a Zone 1 effort but ended up as mostly a Zone 3 workout.
One of those garbage workouts.
A waste of time from a training perspective. But does it really matter?
Not to me.
I enjoy being out on the bike regardless, and it does more for my spirit than my heart in any event.
A ride starts, and shapes my day. It sets the mood for the rest of the day.
I have almost 4 weeks to the Kawartha Lakes Classic, and my guests leave in a week. That’s time enough to tone up, lose a few pounds, and carefully taper for the event. For the next 3 weeks I’ll continue doing daily rides of mixed intensity and duration, strengthening exercises, and a carefully planned diet. The week before the event I’ll taper.
I just have to figure out how to get there 🤷♂️
