Yesterday was another Zone 1 and errand day. Well, thanks to a consistent hurting wind, it became more of a Zone 2 and 3 effort. 70 km in total.
It started with a haircut. I have family visiting next week, and wanted to look more respectable. Then, a mid-ride omelette at Barney’s, my favourite breakfast hangout. Next, a ride suspension waiting for a thunderstorm to pass. I passed the time sheltered under the overhang of the harbour master’s office. On the road again, I stopped at the grocery store for food and lumber yard to pickup a vacuum cleaner.
That’s right. A vacuum cleaner. A small, hand held car vac for the boat. I’ll bet you have never cycled with a vacuum strapped behind your saddle. Oh. The joys and challenges of carless cycling in remote, rural countryside.
The trip took hours but was more enjoyable than a quick trip in a car.
