A day to strengthen … πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

I’m a little tired, and sore following yesterday’s ride. Instead of riding, I’m planning to do a weight workout.

While I’m at Camp PedalWORKS, I have no gym. There is one in town but it is a 75 km round trip. Instead, I do a circuit of body weight exercises – crunches, leg lifts, scissors, plank variations, squats, push ups. I also have two 15 pound Dumbbells I use for curls, shoulder presses, and tricep extensions. I also use them to load some of the other exercises, like the squat.

This time of year, it’s really all I need. It’s a full body circuit. I do 3 sets of 8-10 exercises, alternating between upper body, core, and lower body movements. The entire workout takes 45-60 minutes, and I do this 1-2 times per week depending on how much road work I get in.

It’s a maintenance workout. I’m simply trying to maintain the strength I gained over the winter months. This time of year, it’s more about the road work.

I do the workout on the screened in porch, looking out on the water.
