Ever since training for my first Gran Fondo, I have followed a similar routine – shorter, more intense rides during the week, and a longer ride on Sunday. During the week I do 3-4 rides from 35-50 km varying the intensity. On Sunday I do 75-100 km gradually increasing the intensity right up to event day.
Today, I did 80 km, but stopped for a light omelette mi-ride and also stopped at a local marina for supplies. Part of the ride was hard. Part more relaxed. I have 2 more months to prepare.
