Believe me. They are expensive – $10,000-$15,000. You really can’t appreciate them unless you are an experienced, competitive racer but they are beautiful to look at. If I had one, it might hang on my wall as a piece of art.
As impressive as the design and use of tech and materials are I can’t thinking how ugly these bikes are compared to a lugged steel frame. But then as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder 🙂
I tend to agree. I have a bespoke, English touring frame that is 35 years old. Chas. It is more enjoyable to ride today than it ever was. Partly that due to the Ultra group and wheels, and my better conditioning but it has many more years left.
what are the ballpark numbers for how much these bikes cost? I had no idea what the guy was talking about, but it sounded legit hee hee!

they really are beautiful
Just look at them! Pure awesomeness!
I know. They almost look too beautiful to ride. They belong on my wall as a piece of art.
The Trek is $12,000 or more and the Specialized Venge Vias D2 is almost $13,000. I would call those the most expensive bikes of 2016
Thanks Mark. I was ‘t far off – $10,000 – $20,000 🙂 These are sweet bikes!
