Cow farts are not a good thing …

This video was shared by RachelSquirrel. It got me thinking about the real cost of eating meat. It’s not the first time I have seen these numbers. I have been a vegetarian for a very long time and have supported vegetable-based, local alternatives. But the visuals in this video put it into perspective.

The leaders of the world are meeting this week to halt, or at least slow, global warming. This is a timely clip, making us question what we have done in the name of progress.

Thanks Rachel 🙂

  1. I just passed on the link of your post to three of my friends. One (from Alberta, of course) had recently made the claim that the Oil Sands are harmless by comparison with the methane gas coming from millions of cows and their digestive tracts. Thanks for the post! I still remain a modest meat eater. Everything in moderation is my motto.

    • Thanks Peter. This is an important message. If everyone simply ate less meat like you, it would help. Those dedicated meat eaters are not only harming their own health, but everyone else on the planet. Meat. Cars. When are we going to learn?

      • One of my friends, who lives in Saskatchwan, felt compelled to pass on the link to your message to the Prime Minister of Canada. Perhaps it will make a difference.

Right Honorable Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

        Dear Mr. Trudeau,

This email has been circulating with this website. People are becoming aware of the determinental effects on climate of cows and other such ruminants. Here is the video. It’s only 2 minutes long. I wonder if your staff would facilitate your viewing of it.

        Thank you for your consideration.

        Sincerely,

        Brian C. Fisher
