Hello my name is …

Your name is at the top of your Profile next to your picture.  This is the first impression a viewer will have of you.  Make it count.  Make it personal as if you are meeting them for the first time in an elevator or on the street corner.  Keep it simple.  There is no need for credentials or acronyms.  And, use your personal name, the name colleauges use when referring to you, not your firm’s name.  Do not use middle initials (John H Smith) or acronyms (John H Smith, MBA).  You are never referred to as “H” and your accreditation is not the first thing you tell people when you first meet.

Think of this as the name tag you wear at referral events, conventions and other public meetings where you are meeting people for the first time.
